Getting Families Together began in 1991 with a simple but powerful belief: every young person deserves the opportunity to pursue their educational dreams, regardless of their financial circumstances. What started as a grassroots effort in Memphis has grown into a comprehensive 501(c)(3) organization that has transformed hundreds of lives over three decades.
Timeline of Growth:
1991: Organization founded with a mission to support Memphis youth
1997: Achieved 501(c)(3) nonprofit status
2012: Launched a comprehensive scholarship tracking system
2024: Celebrated over 114 college graduates and 600+ youth served

We connect and empower mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters—along with the families they love— through hands-on community initiatives. By providing resources, education, mentorship, and opportunities for healing, we spark confidence, financial strength, and intergenerational unity.
